Ohio Youth Turkey Season: Spring 2013
Youth turkey season is slated to take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21, 2013. In 2012, Ohio youth hunters bagged 1,632 turkeys during the special two day season. This number accounted for nearly 10% of the total Spring Turkey harvest last year. Total spring turkey harvest in 2012 declined from the previous years numbers, but youth numbers were up 11%. More and more young hunters are taking advantage of this special season, and 2013 should be no different. If you know somebody age 15 or under who might enjoy the excitement of Spring turkey hunting, then become a mentor and spread the tradition.
